Silver Ring Chasing

Create a silver ring with a story of your own in this relaxed, two-hour jewellery workshop in Glasgow. Explore marks, patterns and textures, then shape a wearable keepsake that feels personal to you.

Your workshop experience

With step-by-step guidance, you’ll explore the basics of chasing and surface texturing, experiment with your design and learn how to shape and finish your ring. Choose simple lines, organic patterns or a textured finish — no previous jewellery-making experience is needed.

Come on your own for a creative afternoon, bring a friend, or share the experience as a couple. The photographs show examples of handmade rings for inspiration; each participant’s finished design will be different.

Meet your tutor

Ruby Zhai is a silversmith and jewellery designer trained at the Glasgow School of Art, with a particular focus on Chasing & Repoussé. Ruby’s relaxed, engaging approach introduces you to the beauty of working with metal.

Studio spaces & resident cats

Our studio has a cat-friendly space with two resident cats and a separate cat-free space. If you have allergies or prefer a cat-free workspace, please tell us when booking so we can arrange your space in advance.
